Oth Media Group is the company behind the work of photographer Christian Oth.

Founded in New York in 2001 and now based in Miami, it holds everything Christian makes and the few things around it: fine art series, commissioned portraiture, editorial and commercial assignments, and the writing and teaching that come out of thirty years of photographing people.

What we do

Photography. Fine art portraiture made for collectors and for the wall; commissioned portrait sittings; editorial and campaign work for publications and brands. All of it is made by Christian himself.

Education. Writing and film on the craft of photographing the human subject: how to study a sitter, direct without posing, and light a face so it tells the truth. Published for photographers who want to get better at the hardest part of the job.

Mentorship. A small number of working photographers each year, taken on by conversation rather than curriculum.

Christian Oth

Born in Vienna, raised in Cape Town, a New Yorker from nineteen. His photographs have appeared in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Vanity Fair, Town & Country, and for a decade in The New York Times Magazine. He now lives and works in Miami, where his practice centres on portraiture and the ongoing fine art series Face No Filter.
